why it is different

everyone is checked
Every single member signs up with photo ID and is 18 or over. Checked at the door, not reported afterwards, so the person you are talking to is exactly who they say they are.
the Mixer is the good bit
At set times the community comes online together and you get matched with someone to talk to, by text, voice or video, right there and then. You both say yes before anything starts.

Block or report anyone, from a profile, a chat or a Mixer. Skip or decline whenever you like, and never explain yourself.

- Pop your name down. It takes about ten seconds.
- We tell you when your place is ready. We are opening it up a group at a time, so there is always someone around to meet. When your place comes free, you will get an email from us with a link.
- Verify once, then join a Mixer. You verify with a photo ID and a selfie, once. It takes a couple of minutes. Most checks come back in about 60 seconds. Then you can be in the very next Mixer: Tuesday Night In, every Tuesday at 7pm UK time. How verification works

Why am I being invited?
You heard about The Gen through GenderGP. The Gen is a separate app run by Convo & Co UK Limited. Your account here is not connected to your care and nothing from your health records comes with you.
What do I have to upload?
A photo ID and a selfie, through a specialist verification provider.
My ID does not match my name.
We don’t check the name or the gender marker on your ID against anything. Lots of people in our community have ID that doesn’t match who they are. Your name, pronouns and gender on The Gen are yours to choose.
What happens if someone behaves badly?
Block or report them from their profile, a chat or a Mixer.
Do I need the app?
No. The Gen works in any browser at app.thegen.app, and there is an Android app. iOS coming soon.
Can I leave?
Yes, any time, and you can delete your account and your data from inside the app.
